Mercedes Benz Viano can be purchased for Pte usage with Pte Plate. (Pte Insurance coverage)
or
Register under Pte Plate but use it for Pte Limo (Commercial Insurance
Coverage)... but they are paying COE Cat B
premium instead of the cheaper Cat C premium for Commercial
vehicles (different about $30k now).
Plate Plate
Viano (as Pte Limo) advantages,
1. Can entry Malaysia w/o special licence from JBJ.
2. Can travel at normal speed limit as normal vehicle, ie,
no speed restriction of 70km/h.
3. Parking in HDB will be charged at normal rate of $65 to
$90 depending on Open Space or Multi-storey (this version sold to
Plate Plate Viano is 23.8cm shorter than then Commercial Plate, PZ
Viano).
4. Have a PARF value on it's 10yr life-span.
5. Plate Plate leh.... having more prestigious image.
6. ERP Tolls as per normal vehicle, hence cheaper than PZ
plates.
Disadvantages.
1. Higher Road Tax. As it is a diesel engine. the
road tax is higher than petrol run engine.
2. Cannot travel on Bus-Lanes during operation hours.
Whereas, the Commercial Viano can do bus-lanes.
3. Paying higher COE premiums (Cat B) and vehicle listed
price.
4. Slightly shorter than the Extra Long Version of the
Commercial Viano, lesser luggages space (and/or shorter leg
rooms).
5. If vehicle is registered under Commercial Insurance
(normally double of the PZ plates).
There could be some more Pros & Cons... i just listed those
that came into my mind.
