Good News?
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will raise the age limit for
taxi drivers to continue driving from 73 to 75.
It said this would allow older drivers who are still fit and
healthy to continue driving.
Currently, all cabbies who plan to extend their vocational license
beyond 70 have to pass a detailed assessment test. Those who passed
could have their license renewed till they were 73.
From June 1 this year, they will be able to drive till 75 if they
continue passing the assessment tests. These will either be
conducted annually or at shorter intervals if deemed necessary.
