Full time diploma in NP - The age group question

I was thinking of doing a full time dip in either NYP or NP after my national service. I am quite looking forward to it But one thing that worries me is will i be too old for it? I will be 22 / 23 . Naturually, i heard that there are alot/some of the full time dip students in the various polytechnics who are also in their early or mid 20s. Some are even in their late 20s. But those are just rumors. I have no prior experience with polytechnic lifestyle. So just wanted a feedback from you guys. Will the age of 22 / 23 going into first year full time dip in NP be considered a freak of nature Laughing Seriously though, feedbacks will be much appreciated. Are all your classmates below 20? Thanks!

hey, of cos not dude. i have some frens like u, after ns den go poly study again. so its pretty alrite. age doesn't matter at all. its ur heart and attitude towards studying. Razz

Sounds good ! Smile Definitely i am serious towards studying (or i wont have applied) I was merely worried that if it's all 16 ++ to 20 age people applying for full time, i might as well apply for part time so as not to seem out of place.

Rubbish, no one is too old for tertiary studies. Absolutely no one.

I was talking about full time diploma. True that no one is too old for tertiary studies, but a 45 years old guy applying for full time dip would be kinda out of place.

Can lah, i know a 48yr old mum taking her Masters full time, and her daughter taking Bachelors in the same uni.

i took my full-time dip in NAP too after O lvls & NS, there was another guy too in my course aged 28 when we enrolled. Age isn't a barrier when it comes to will to achieve IMO, u want it bad enuf u'll go for it regardless of hurdles!

there are a lot of people who are well over the "standard" age group...but looking at ur post...I dunno U want to go poly because its the next best thing to do when U dun want to start working or because U really want to get a diploma.Your classmates younger than you cannot study meh?Since U neber been in poly...U should be applying under JAE...which is starting either today or tomorrow from time of this post.

age is not a barrier hard to evercome… my class in school of ict has 2 guys who completed ns already and many are older than me… considering the fact that i retained a year in secondary school so i thought i’d be one year older than the rest but wooo many are older than me…

you shldnt think this way.. i got a couple of friends that are older too.. but this sort of balances the class, coz there pple who are childish too.. haha

if given a choice, i would like to go thru ns first before going to poly, lotsa advantages. Firstly u only serve 2 years of service in ns. Main thing is you could look for jobs straight after graduation without the 2-2.5 years of lagout, putting you on par with your fellow lady friends in poly.

yep correct. esp if you are studying the IT field..
really gotta catch up after my Ns, coz i m doing Biz IT !!!
