Linux ability to read NTFS 5, WINE

Centaur SG

Hello gurus,
Just need to check out whether any distribution of Linux can read from NTFS 5 partitions? Heard that there's an application called WINE that can emulate Windows and you can even install window operating system into it. Is it true and how is the performance?

Linux-Mandrake can read NTFS/FAT partitions after you have mounted them.
You can dual boot OS or you can use VMware which "simulates" single OS presence to trick the OSes.
WINE is actually a Window$ Emulator so i dun think that can be used to install another copy of Window$...
