Hi everyone, this is my first post so 请多多管教！
Anyway, I saw an old post here regarding DSA to TJC while
searching for information. It's my turn now! I'm a Secondary 4
student currently interested in applying for DSA to Temasek Junior
Collage through Taekwondo. I have "okay okay" results lah. This are
my results from my Secondary 3 EOY exams:
English Language: A2
Chinese: B3
Additional Mathematics: A2
Mathematics: A2
Biology: A2
Science (Phy, Chem): A1
Combined Humanities (SS, Geography): B3
Literature: B4
Well, the insecure me isn't sure if I will be accepted based on
my results as TJC's academics are brilliant. Also, I have won
medals for Kyorugi (Sparring), Poomsae (Pattern) and also at the
recently added Demonstration competitions, both Inter-school and
Nationals. I am currently a Poom 3, Dan 1 (haven't gone for
conversion!).
I was just wondering, what will the trials test me on? It seems
that TJC does not take Sparring into consideration (which is a
pity) and only have Poomsae trials. I heard that the Coach there
will test me on Yellow Pattern all the way to Koryo Poomsae. Will I
also be required to do Kumgang since I am a Poom 3? I plead you,
anyone who is experienced in this area, please please PLEASE help
me! :'(
Lastly, will there be an aptitude test as well? What topics
should I prepare on or is it like the conventional tests (hardcore
mathematics and GP)?
