What I never wanted¡K
By Travis Wong
I wanted to be the kid whose smile brought joy,
Observing this world with eyes of fascination.
Now I¡¦m no longer the boy playing with his toy,
I grew up trying to satisfy all the hopes and expectation.
I wanted to be the one with all the money,
The one who could afford extravagant goods.
Now I realized that fantasy was funny,
Cause I¡¦m just not fated to be another Tiger Woods.
I wanted to be the one with all the looks,
The Prince Charming of every single lady.
Now I realized my looks are just the butt of jokes,
Cause I¡¦m just another boy, stupid and ugly.
I wanted to be the one the boys all liked,
Always the first to get picked to play,
The one they all wanted to BE like...
But noticing me, they actually all ran away.
I wanted to be the one she loved,
The reflection of my image warming her heart.
But when she quickly scuffed at my true love,
That day I truly understand why ¡¥LOVE SUCK¡¦
I wanted to be the one who filled her life with joy,
The one who set the smile on her face.
But seeing her in the arms of another boy,
I realized my baby, she flew away...
I wanted to be something, someone,
The one whose name was the talk of the town.
But I never wanted to be me... until now,
Cause I am indeed SPECIAL and DIFFERENT,
and that alone makes me stand out from the crowd.
