This was in the Straits Times on 12 Oct. Is it really true, or do numbers from our neighbours (malaysians) inflate the numbers? There's no distinct cultural difference between malaysians and singaporeans.

Do you think really that many S'poreans marry foreigners? What's the social impact then? Brain drain?

4 out of 10.... cos that 4 is foreigner in the first place lor.. then become citizen... then of cos their gf or wife is usually foreigner right?? they wont so fast become citizen too.. cos then the other half can bring them to other country when needed what.. as PR lor... understand?? simple right?

In the perspective of we gals, because local men/boys are not romantic at all, they cannot take the hardship of life, overly pampered and behave in a male chauvinist behavior thinking that they are the best.

6K plus men and 1.8k women marry foreigners. This is only based on those who register in Singapore. There are others who marry and register in foreign country. So the number might be higher. The biggest group to marry foreigners are the lower educated men and highly educated women.
