Personally from my experiences, I feel quite a lot of people out
there are either selfish, inconsiderate, or just plain not
thinking.
In just one week, I experienced two incidences of people opening
their door and hitting the side of my van! And both incidences I
was seated inside the van waiting for a colleague.
First incident I was waiting and parked in a parking lot in a light
drizzle. A euro-van pulls up and reversed into a vacant lot next to
me (right side), and carefully parked his van. Then suddenly the
passenger swung his door open knowing I am there and inside my van.
His door clunked against my door quite hard. I got furious, wound
down my window and shouted at him; "Oi!! You open your door like
that?!?!" I got mopre furious when he pretended not to have heard
me. I opened my door and got out, and started to examine the area
his door impacted mine. I then stared at him and remarked again;
"How can you open your door like that?!?!" And he bends over to
exmaine my door as well as if indicating that he could not see any
damage. And indeed there was no dent. But the point is not whether
there was a dent or not, the point is when you have offended
someone, you should apologize and not pretend like nothing
happened. I then said while he was examining my door; "Next time,
look before you open your door!!" He just said; "Orr..." I can't
believe it, not a single SORRY!
The stupid driver all that while was fidjeting over something
behind the van, I think pretending not to notice or too afraid to
come over the passenger side to intervene. The passenger walks away
quickly to join his buddy at the back of their van. I looked around
at their van, checked mine again, went to the back to look at what
the hell they are up to. They were busy looking through some paper
works, while mumbling away. I stared at the driver he looks away. I
went back to front and the both of them walks away, the passenger
turned and looked back, I stared again and he quickly looks
away.
Damn! Was I mad!
I got back into my van, and after about 3 minutes, the two of them
came back, got into their van and drive off. Presumably to park
somewhere else for fear of being scratched or something.
The second incident, again parked in a lot while waiting for a
colleague, a black shiny Grandis pulls into a vacant lot next to
me, and again a friggin rear passenger opened his door wide enough
to clunk against the rear side of my van. I stuck my head out and
scowled at the driver then the stupid passenger who swung open the
door. This time I didn't say anything, but the driver immediately
apologizes profusely; "Sorry sorry sorry, he wasn't aware and open
the door too hard..." I said; "Oh? Is it?!?!"
Before I can say another word, he drive out of the lot to park
somewhere else while the stupid passenger walked away rather
quickly...
People are just either mindless, selfish, or just farking
inconsiderate of other people around them, but a farking not guts
when confronted.
