The joke is that LTA allow chinese cars with crappy safety standards. I really cannot understand why Singapore acceptance standard is so low nowadays.
Its the beginning of the downfall.

But when your BMW wants to change to bigger tyres or exhaust pipe, LTA will say that its illegal as it cause the car to be unsafe for the road.
Woah....I would say a illegally modded BMW is still 10times more safe compared to the current range of chinese cars.

Well......the root of all evil is MONEY. People will buy cheap no matters what.

When i first look at the pictures, yes the interior look like very spacious to me also, but when i take a closer look at it again, the pictures is quite deceiving and misleading pple.

First, lets take a look at the front(driver) seats picture, u can see that the seat is actually shifted back and adjusted to the extreme. (u can take the front doors as the reference)

Then take a look at the rear(passengers) seats picture, now they straighten the back rest of the front seat and shifted the front forward. (look at the distance between the front seats and the door again)

See the difference? Wink

Best way to determine the leg room for rear passengers is to go to the actual car and get into the driver seat and adjust to ur comfortable position then move back to the rear and try sit on it. Wink

i forgot to share an important story the last time i replied to this thread...

i went to the motorshow on 12th of november last year with a friend. the lifan booth was on the 4th floor exhibition hall.

when my friend opened the car door, he was cut by the plastic window frame on the rear door, which had a sharp edge.

in full view of the salesman. who pretended not to see.

so you tell me whether lifan can be bought or not.

From wat i see, there could be a positive side to bring in the Chinese cars too.

They provides more choices to the car buyers , and hence increase the competition among the different car brands here, including jap, Korean & MY cars.

This will subsequently leads to more competitive pricing of cars too..

Of cos, there'll always be ppl who will buy the Chinese cars due to their cheap pricing which will be hard to ignore, & that's if they decided to ignore Safety!

With regards to the safety aspect, if U is not inside one of the Chinese cars, then it shouldn't bother U too much, as you should be well protected inside a jap,korean or conti car... I mean if your car kanna rammed by a car (be it wat make), then you should be more safe if you not inside a Chinese car..

so let's be more forgiving towards the intro of Chinese cars into SG.
