first wash the car thoroughly.
This is to wash off the miniscule dust/dirt that will make micro
scratches as you wax the car.
then Dry the car thoroughly. this is so that wax will not mix with
water and lessens the effectiveness of wax.
Wax the car panel by panel (if you using hand).
Abide this guidelines... use soft cloth. Soft cloth shouldn't be
"dusty", cloth MUST NOT drop onto the floor/ground this is trap
dirt/sand into the cloth which in turn create scratches.

Also, i dunno why you use Turtle Wax... there are better ones
around for not much more.
