yup. Had u been thru NS? Everyone drinks from the tap. Even when go for field exercises, the jerry cans are filled from the tap. Any issue on that?

for me, I'll turn on e tap let some water flow out bef filling up my cans

I did my 2 1/2 years, and I water paraded with plain unboiled tap water all the way through.

Heck, I went through Brunei, and I drank river water self-treated with chlorine-based purifying tablets. No one in my unit came down with any water-borne disease.

Whoever wants to pay huge sums of money to further treat tap water which has already been treated to kingdom come beyond accepted WHO standards, let them do so.

Me? I'll just stick to the good ol' tap water that I've been drinking all my life.

my family just installed one.

ok, maybe i'm barking up the wrong tree here, but wah lao eh. you know the filter actually turns dark yellow after a few months?

plus when they decided to clean out the water tank, for 1 day, the water which flowed out is putrid and dirty????

freaking gross man. that's when we installed the water filter.

ever heard of bacteria or fungal growth on the filter itself??

now think about it.. the water is clean.. but the filter is there all the time.. after a while some bacteria or what starts to grow there.. and you're actually running your clean water over that gunk?

in other words, you are actually dirtying your clean tap water?

yah... the one in the office says "every 3 months" but in the meantime, if they can be bothered to, it's 3 months of things just growing there...
