The Glass Hall, Singapore Art Museum, Saturday 19th
July, 7.30pm - 10.30pm
Ok, first off, civil society is not a bad word and the police will
not
come and catch you, pull off your pants and stick you into a
freezing
room to give you death by air-con.
That aside, there's a neat line up of speakers such as
environmentalist Sivasothi who will talk about his
environmental
conservation experiences, our NMP Siew Kum Hong who will talk
about
civil activism and a few others. So if you're interested to hear
about
and discuss some civil issues and think you'll be entertained in
the
process, do drop by.
The entire line-up can be found below:
1st Half
7:30pm --> NMP Siew Kum Hong, "On civil society activism and
empowerment"
8:00pm --> Daniel Tung, "What is HIV? How is HIV related to
sexuality?"
8:30pm --> Sivasothi, "Issues and new approaches in nature
conservation in Singapore"
9:00pm --> 15min Mingle time cum break
2nd Half
9:15pm --> John Richard Gee, "Now you see us, now you don't:
the
migrant worker's presence"
9:45pm --> Saleemah Ismail, "Migrant Domestic Workers in
Singapore"
10:15pm --> 15min Mingle time cum break
10:30pm --> END
And yes, there's free food and drinks available for all the
hungry
students who troll the yahoo groups in search of free food.
:p
