the fridge is the only thing that needs power 24 hrs a day. not the modem..just turn it off when no one's at home...

the thing is there will always be someone at home...old people don't go out that much(grandparents)...and what if someone wants to call back home but cannot call because mio is switched off...

btw, the other thing that needs to be switched on 24hrs is oxygen pump for fishes...but it's out of point.

why do u need to switch on the modem for 24/7.. ? ? ??
you can just poweroff the modem when ure not using the net, thats what i do.. my phone still working. =_=

that's why, my modem is problematic, 2nd 2 wire since the i change to mio, the reason to turn on the modem 24/7 is becos mio voice uses VoIP, voice over internet protocol. we call for free, and receive call for free, cos all use data from the bandwidth itself
