COEs for
categories A, B and C fall; D and E categories go up in Dec
bidding
Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices for cars in the A and B
categories have fallen for the month of December.
COEs for cars less than 1600 cc (Category A) dropped by S$489 to
S$12,200, while those for cars that are more than 1600 cc (Category
B) now cost S$14,389, down by S$120.
The biggest fall in the latest open bidding exercise was in
Category C for goods vehicles and buses.
The price has been nearly halved to S$509, down by S$494.
COEs for the other two categories went up.
Those in the Open Category now cost S$14,669, up slightly by
S$168.
Motorcycle COEs went up by S$549 to S$1,251.
President of the Automobile Association of Singapore, Bernard Tay,
says the motor industry market is relatively quiet during the
holiday period.
This is expected because many Singaporeans take the opportunity to
travel and are not visiting the showrooms.
