that is their problem. the govt not helping why should we help? we ourselves are also facing a hard time.

we must have the attitude of wee shu min. even her father also support what she said.

A three year-old boy needs the ventilator to eat and breathe but the electricity bill per month is around $400. His family has already paid around $20,000, which wiped out his mother, Mdm Idah's and grandfather's Medisave, for his hospital stay. Besides that, they need to pay $200 per month for his catheters, saline solutions and feed bags.

Mdm Idah, a 26 year-old single mum and part-time cashier, was also unable to get financial aid from the Community Development Council - told that it is only for those with full-time jobs.

Can SP cut supply in this case?

SP is not a charity organisation to give subsidies, you should approach your community such as Medaki and other social services for help. You can also appeal to your MP of your consitutency as you had voted him/her to be your MP. They will direct you on how to claim back your bills fully or partially depending on case by case basis.

should cut or not are not decided by us. if they never pay, the supply will be cut and that is for sure.

There's an email from Mohammad Raiyan's aunt, Ms Suhaidah:

Hi frens. I need ur help. U know about my nephew Muhd Raiyan Shafiq condition rite? He got HFMD and the virus had left an injury in his brainstem and hes home now using ventilator machine, oximeter machine and he needs to use a feeding tube that is from his nose to his stomach. Well his story was being published in ST on 2nd June 2008, and theres a kind lady by the name of Aisha had broadcast the story to the docs in Singapore and one of the doc who is from Mount E. by the name of Dr Prem Pillay who came forward to help. He can only waive the cost of the surgery but the costs of so called pacemaker a substitute of the ventilator machine and there are certain costs to be borne by us. The so called pacemaker will be implant into his heart and the doc says the chances of him recovery will be 70% -80% The total costs of the pacemaker and other costs such as the costs of staying in the hospital will be more or less than $50K - $75K

I really need u guys to disseminate this email so that they are more ppl who will come forward and help us to make this happen. I had email and asked the journalist Salma Khalik to help me to write up te story about his surgery in the paper and i hope there are more ppl who will come forward to help Mohd Raiyan Shafiq. The sooner i can raise the fund, the sooner the surgery can be done. To all only God will repay ur kindness. God Bless You All! Tanks a zillion.
