i tot maintenence free batt would be better... is there any drawbacks?

jus frm simple calculations, maintenence free batts can last as long as batts wif caps, n it costs abt $20 more..

so far, i've used almost 5 bottles of batt water, costing $1.20 each.

tt equals to $6..

it's slightly more than a yr old, n a batt if i'm not wrong can last abt 2 yrs

so tt would be abt $12 in 2 yrs jus 4 the batt water...

but i think the hastle of remembering 2 top-up fully justifies the $8 more..

Any comments? n are the calculations abt right?

Not true, car batteries are designed for more than 2 years of lifespan, Sulphation is the thing that causes your batteries to 'die young'.

for those maintainence-free batteries... if you can, get those car battery charger... especially if ya the type who always drive short distances wan. charge once overnight, once a week... think can only apply to those living in landed property. I've seen those MF batteries, not even reach 2 years, start to die already.

For those cap types, regular checking and topping up of battery water level will do.
