Recently saw an ad in The Cats Straits Times page about some
plumbing services...It mentioned that they will arrive within half
an hour. The ad is as shown below under plumbing:
Clear all chokes with hijet
auto
machine, replace toilet bowl,
basin,
water heater, dustbin,
cistern,
taps, ceiling leakage, door
lock,
apply permit, etc.
Fast &
reliable(24-hr)
no obligation.
Arrive within half an
hour
Paid for the service $200 and mentioned that there was 1 year
guarantee. Due to some clogging of the pipe, the person mentioned
that it needed one night for the chemical to dissolve the solids
stuck inside.
The next day, tried to call the person up but he refused to. No
matter how much I tried.
Went to CASE to make a complaint then realised that the business
does not seems to be registered and cannot be done.
So, just wanna let people out there know that there are illegal
business who are operating, they can happily advertise and yet not
be penalised in anyway since they are not formally registered, no
add, yet nothing can be done about it. It sucks but it is an
important lesson to be learnt.
So, do take serious thought and consideration even deciding to
purchase anything.
