I hate what the camera makers are doing to the videocam
hadrware now a days.
cons of using a DSLR to shoot videos:
(1)still fooling videographers out there who know shit with
rolling shutter.what;'s that? it bring on the jelly effects. its
like holding a piece of paper with your 2 hadns, then filpping it
here and there. paper must be thin one to see what jeely eefect is
about. the only thing immune to jeely effect i when the scene is
stationary. once you start mmove the cam, jelly rocks.
(2)poor autofocusing. the subject focus shift opn and off, -
nope its not creative focusing or blurring. its poor autofocusing
system
(3)sensor gets heater up fast - i wonder use i\the fucnction so
often how long will my dslr live.
(4)large file size - you only need a 2.0736MP sensor to shoot a
1280x1080p hd video. its so simple 1920x1080=2.07356MP. activating
a 24mp sensor lots of work and compression to stringe it down to
1280x1080 - means loss of quality if you dont do it right during
rendering.
Only the Mk2 and 3 of canon so far is the only DSLR model thatn
can still make it with minimal jelly effects - the rest - like
seet.
Undertsanding frame rates is very important when you
attempt to slow donw the frames speed in your videos, and smoothly.
you will need at least 60p (not 60i, dont get fooled by the cam
hardware specs) to slow down 75-50%, more than 60p like 120p and
above to slow it donw more. see a cat jumping gif in cat forum how
smooth the cat apears when the frames slows it jumped to catch a
bird. that's what a fast action fps cam is for.
throw me a canon sx150 IS i can shoot decent video any time
man!
