I have my reason to make that statement....
My main point is, why do you even need people's opinions to get
a bag? You mentioned your mom commented that the bag is feminine,
and your friends said it looks very 'malay'. And you need our
comments. Do the people's comments affect your decision into
purchasing the bag?
Seriously, I think it looks good. 
I like the 2 colors used and also it
can store a lot of stuffs inside. The lifespan of a bag very much
depends on the way you use and take care of it.
because i've bought alot of things that my friends had negative
comments on , and i end up regretting haha. So this time round i
don't want to make anymore mistake. Thanks anyway.
