There is enough trouble dealing with authorised dealers and
their after sales staff, you want to get the headache of dealing
with PI?
Firstly, there is ZERO after sales service. The warranty is only as
good as long as they answer your call. And after a little while,
they don't answer. PI's have the cards stacked against them. They
have to get the cars from other dealers in Japan, i.e. register,
deregister, register again in Singapore. So for the same car, the
OMV is much higher hence dealer total cost price.
To compete, they have to keep prices low. So they under declare the
cars, and play around with the loan numbers.
My recommendation is that we don't need the extra headaches, so go
with the authorised dealers. Enough cars to choose from, and the
are currently killing each other with lower prices anyway, since
nobody is buying cars.
Did you know that about 50% of the cars in Singapore are under 2
years old?
