I think you should consider wat kind of cars you want to drive. There are alot of cars that are mentioned but of different kind (SUV, luxury sedan, sports.....). Decide on mode and that will help you to narrow down your choices. But personally, I'll go for the M5. Its sporty; power is awesome; able to seat 4 adults comfortably & a whole lot of other advantages which i can't think of right now. Just kept thinking of the M5 already.......drool...drool....drool. ok within the budget and price range, I can have a lot of choices... my wife has ruled out the M5... too old, but I can get that later.... Mr. Green

The criteria now are:

Has to be max 1 or 2 years old.
Has to seat 4 adults comfortably.
Has to be fun to drive.
Has to be able to lug stuff... (this is maybe optional...)

We have test driven so many cars to date and still keep coming back to a BMW, just what we are more comfortable with, yet, lexus finance is very competitive at the moment... hmmm...

well the final list reads something like this....

1. E60 2005 525i M sport. Silver black leather. Full option including sat nav and TV, mp3 player, bluetooth.
2. E60 2006 525i M sport. Silver black leather. Full option including sat nav and TV, mp3 player, bluetooth.
3. E60 2005 530i M sport Wagon. Mystix Blue. Full option including sat nav and TV, mp3 player, bluetooth.
4. 2006 X3 3.0 Diesel sports pack. LeMans Blue, black leather.
5. 2006 X5 3.0 Diesel sports pack. Estoril Blue (individual colour) 20" rims, black leather.
6. 2006 X5 3.0 Diesel sports pack. Silver, black leather, sports pack, 19" rims, full option including sat nav and TV, mp3 player, bluetooth.

Drove the 4.6is x5, its a blast to drive, but I dunno if I want to drive one everyday....

it's not a question whether i can afford or not....so dun digress.

if u are serious abt changing yr ride or buying a new one, there are more credible and practical source u can refer to. yr buying criteria is only known to yourself and your `genuinely asking people amongst...' is like walking to a supermarket and start asking anyone and everyone which shampoo brand is best. how the heck does one know? u got dandruff or not, 3-in-1 or basic stuff, etc.

no disrespect to anyone who have given their 2 cents worth here, but how do u know if they are talking sense or just put something out to you based on their whim and fancies and talkin' c*ck. u seriously r going to take their POV and based yr decision even in part when u buy yr car? some may actually have a valid opinion, but how does tt fits into what u have in mind?

and BTW, your original list of vehicles range so widely that u might as well start with a tricycle and end with a tank.

i can assure u that there is not one iota of jeolousy on my part. i am more than happy with what i am driving. happier for someone who can afford to drive a bettter machine but not for someone who is pretexting and actin' lk a snob....all this texting abt this merz and that jag, so what if u can afford it down under?

why dun u spare all of us the agony of choice and just post the pics of yr final purchase and get this thread over and done with?
