SINGAPORE: Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew said Singapore’s
Institutes of Technical Education (ITEs) are a success story for
having helped those not academically inclined develop skills and
contribute to society.
Speaking to reporters after visiting ITE College East in Simei
on Thursday, Mr Lee said every society has students who do not have
academic aptitude, but what is important is to have a good
education system that can identify these students’ abilities and
maximise their other talents.
Mr Lee added that ITE has produced many outstanding graduates
who are now successful businessmen and entrepreneurs, which is
evidence that there are many paths to success.
