I thought that clipping anything, no matter how serious, will slow down the lap time. Laughing I'm not a driver though, so I'm guess you are right.

Well that slight clip could have maybe cost 0.5 seconds or so of the time, meaning it might have been alot closer or even faster than the 911 turbo and 360 Challenge Stradale

According to Jeremy Clarkson, the Stig and a Ferrari test driver said that it was because of the fact that the 430 was running on bridgestones, and the 360 CS was on pirellis.

only a slight clip... just left a black streak mark on the side of the car... that's all... but from the camera's pt of view, it looked like the car was going so fast that the wind from the moving car moved the camera... heh...

in the clip,the stig hit the tyres..the car end up with lots of tyre marks on the side..quite badly..but i dun think it will affect the time.
