hmm ok. Not me la. My dad is suggesting.

Currently dad's driving a Honda CRV. Mum's a Honda Civic 2004.

So thinking of "upgrading" into a luxury model. Maybe BMW or Merc. Or other makes....

depends alot on ur needs. like if ur mommy is just driving to and forth work, going markets or hanging out with her tai-tai friends. i think a small cute Honda will do the trick.

and for the 2nd car, ur dad might want to trade in his CR-v for a bigger, more family oriented car, like the new camry or a volkswagon.

Money is not that bif of issue. Its just that, my dad is saying, rather than he paying for two cars, might as well get a better luxury car.

sure a luxury car has got that 'feel good' factor. more of an occasion everytime you drive the car. If he's getting bored with the honda/s , not a bad idea to change. Why not ask him go test drive some cars ? Feel the difference first hand, then it may be easier to decide.

depend whether u need the pax space anot...take note that trading in for luxery car(saloon body) u have like left max 5 pax to seat inside, if most of time both cars is being used for whole family outing or to give aunts and uncle a lift or whatever then i dont advice u trade in for one car(even tho lux).Then i advice u trade in one saloon car for a MPV then u can use it alone as it as slightly more pax space.

Two cars is definately BETTER.

1) In case one breakdown, the other one will come in handy.
2) You father and mother can go to their separate golf and shopping schedule without argument over who should drive today and who should take taxi.
3) When you passed your licence, you can get to drive TWO different cars to impress your girlfriends. Trust me...this is a very very important factor.

Maybe just ask your father to upgrade his car to the one that he really likes, maybe a Lexus GS350.
No point getting a super luxury merc S-class or BMW 7series, a car is after all a car.
IMHO, your parents are well-to-do, and status symbol are usually not very important for old people who already has teenager childrens.

Keep both cars, ask your Dad to consider perhaps a larger SUV or MPV, maybe a Lexus RX300.
