Macbook Air

It looks truly sleek and looks like the ideal laptop to travel with. Whilst the lack of a DVD-ROM is still acceptable (afterall they do offer a separate DVD console), the biggest drawback is not having an ethernet port. You don't see many hotel rooms or clients' office having a wireless network.

There was the Powerbook G4 12 inch. The balance between specs and battery life then was alright.

Heck the HD resolution, it doesn't really matter. Laughing

i harped on the lack of etherport weakness until my colleague pointed out there is a USB-ethernet adaptor accessory for sale.

original mac is too expensive at SGD50 maybe, but sure our China 'OEM's will have something soon.

so the lack of ethernet port is a non-issue.

battery is still the major problem, its seems.

There's actually also the Apple AirPort Express (that I am using and actually forgot about it!) which is easy to bring around and one can hook up the ethernet to that device and gain wireless access.

i think you cant compare it to another macbook.

you got to compare it with the next slimmest notebook in the market.
sony tz something if im not wrong (go watch keynote).
the macbook air has 13.3inch screen where as the other notebook has a 11 inch screen.
the macbook air has a bigger keyboard.
the macbook has the gesture thingy on its big touch pad.

only downfall:
no optical drive, but what Jobs said in keynotes is that they have an external superdrive, BUT the point for macbook air is for everything to be wireless.
so if you want to install something on your macbook you can do it from another com *watch keynote
