Excessive bad cholesterol (low density lipoprotein) doesn't
really cause a definite build up of arterial plaque in your
arteries but does significantly increase the risk of
atherosclerosis that can lead to myocardial infarction (heart
attack).
Since we produce cholesterol as well, we only need to ingest a
minimal amount of dietary cholesterol to suffice the RDI for the
day. If i remember correctly, we only need 300mg of cholesterol
from diet per day, and an egg yolk alone provides around 280mg of
cholesterol.
