study in US/Japan-affordable?

if i want to continue my uni studies in the US/japan, do you think it is affordable?

i come frome a middle upper class family, household income above nat'l average....

i know the tuition fees arent that expensive, tokyo uni is like at most sgd10000, georgia tech is around 15 k usd per year....but is staying in those countries damn expensive? anyone studied in US before?

SAT, and im planning on doing it.

unfortunately, state run unis in japan's language of instruction is japanese, so i will have to rule myself out. so sad, unis in japan are highly subsidized too...

Hahaha...japan unis are very demanding...but more so...i think its more recognizable if its US...but what are you looking into to study?

my first choice would be a finance related degree...if not, something in the sciences would be great....

In Aussie its like 21k AUS / sem....a year is like 42k AUS? (excluding lodging)
There is SMU, NTU, SIM and NUS that offer finance related degrees...SMU would be a better choice but its quite stressful there...depends on what you want...but if its true...then studying in US is really cheaper than AUS...=/

And unfortunately almost all jap universities use the jap language as thier main mode of instruction...
