kenn3th SG

yes, it's same local rate. cause you dont know where the person is at.
on the other hand if u send from someother country to singapore, then the receiving party doesnt needa pay, but you pay overseas sms charges.

that was my case when i went to guang zhou for excahnge programme.

Seven_Dragon SG

i am a smart boy boy Wink Wink Wink

FireIce SG

it's not M1's fault
it's the telco in the country
diff telco charge differently

alleggerita SG

SG other countries = same local rate ($0.05)
SG receive SMS from other countries = free
Foreign country SG = overseas rate (rates may vary)
Foreign country receive SMS from SG = free

Vigelic SG

official word from m1 (if u trust me..)

regardless of roaming on digi, maxis, or any msian telco,

rates to sms back to sg phone numbers are as follows:

roaming subscription:
1.39 RM + S$0.05

pay-as-you-roam:

1.39 RM + 20% of 1.39RM + S$0.05

source: 1627

-------------------------------------------------

singtel is as follows (according to 1626)

autoroam subscribers:
S$0.61 /sms

pay-as-you-roam subscribers:
S$0.61 /sms + 20% of S$0.61 (reflected separately on the bill)

-------------------------------------------------

not much diff wad.. 15 cents diff onli?

Vigelic SG

starhub coverage sux! =(

and their smses are delayed all the time (ok actually sometimes only)! u send it now, u can receive it hours or even a day later -.-

caleb_chiang SG

International SMS from SG, 15 cents flat...
International SMS from overseas, it varies, charge will be from M1 and the service provider you are using at the moment of sms.
SMS people without knowing he/she is overseas as in to local number, it will be flat rate as well.(5 cent per sms)

Please call your service line to check the various services in the country you are travelling to before your trip to save money. Last time, in malaysia when I travel, celcom was free in sms using M1...

Then when I go australia, hong kong and other country, I also check... and lock my service to the cheapest service as advised by customer service, Laughing
