I'm not an expert in marketing, but I tink positioning is
important. Someone mentioned abt the incoming CNY. Perhaps TS can
do some designs related to it?
Did u say u sell it for 50cent each? I wun know how you get your
numbers, but at 50 cent, the profit margin may be very low, and in
fact may not even cover the cost of u doing the actual
selling.
People perceived Quality as expensive. I dunno about bookmarks, but
if u can do up something that gives people that it is extremely top
quality, they may pay more for it. Example diaries that you buy at
Popular bookstore may range say $4 to $20, but the cost of
producing it is really not that far away. The retail price
difference may be $4 vs $20, but the actual diff may be one is a
plastic cover, one a lookalike-leather cover.
However I give credit to TS, as I feel bookmarks are extremely hard
to sell. I personally dun use any (much less specially going out to
get any). I'll just slot any scrap paper/brochure that i can
reach.
End of the day, if u'r tinking of high volume selling, u might
wanna liaise with bookfairs. One-to-one selling, tink a bit
time-consuming ahhhh.
