stompie666 SG Hello, we are a group of JC1 students donig a PW on Hybrid Cars like Toyota Prius. Please help us on our survey here. What do you think of hybrid cars? Would you buy one? How do you think the government can help to improve hybrid car uptake in Singapore? Thanks ppl =)
Disappointment SG Hey, you try to snook me is it? Your survey also cannot go in, how to do survey?????
AE86tofu SG 1st of all...no offense 2 hybrid car owners....so what if u get one? its not that economical,it costs ALOT more than a norm car but the build quality is the same as like a norm toyota....and 3rdly the emissions are still abt the same...when u buy one all u are doing is that u can go rnd tell yrself that I've got the same car as leonardo decaprio, keanu reeves, cameron diaz and robin williams.... which is rubbish so 2 speak...
TwinTurbo_Supra SG i thought it costs around 80k? you kena too much influence from clarkson already lah.
the Bear SG go do the project work properly.. surveys do not give you facts... a hybrid car may actually cause more pollution than a normal car.. it already takes a crapload more energy to produce it.. that is also part of the "emissions" of the thing.. it's like those idiots buying "organic food"... where they get the damned thing flown all the way across the world.. adding to the pollution and greenhouse gases.. go do the project work properly... go to a library and research
MooKu SG People should just ride bicycles. It's not like SG is very big. And most of the time when I'm on the bus looking out at cars on the road, there's only 1 person - the driver - inside.
AE86tofu SG 80k its overpriced wad...dun u think so???its so slow that a child can cross the street....grow into puberty and pick up the ball and u would nt have even arrived to knock him down and diesels do a vetter job...cheaper 2 run, more economical and lower in emissions...
ditzy SG I would buy one if the below conditions are met: 1. COE for a hybrid car is $900, and doesn't fluctuate monthly. 2. The hybrid car costs less than a chery QQ. 3. Road tax is waived permanently for it. 4. Interest rate to go with the monthly loan of paying it off is less than 1.25% non fluctuating. 5. Complimentary braun buffel leather interior upgrade.
Eragon SG wat do u knw abt Statistics analysis? Do u knw how to test for hypothesis- one sample, 2 sample test. anova... etc? but firstly do u understand wat is it... ?
n0x SG why u all come in and talk so much c0ck… juz do the survey la.. pple doing project work need help u all say so much feng liang hua.. what sample size hypo whatnot… they juz need an overall picture.. not major in statistics leh… i think threadstarter see the replies will sian half…. somemore still have to worry about other aspects of the project…
the Bear SG surveys only tell you what the person THINKS about the car.. if you want to sell the car, sure... do the survey.... but if you want facts, like most JC1 project work would want, a survey is the silliest way to get the facts
sir_peanuts SG I think the ST mentioned some time ago, that last time Dr Yaccob Ibrahim (Minister for Environment) was the only person who owned a Toyota Prius in the whole of Singapore
heluim SG i am tinking of doing CNG… adding a 1-2k mod.. then makes your car be able use either Compress Natural Gas or petrol instead of solely petrol.
kiss29 SG I think if the students are Smart enough to realise that.......the harsh words and arguments in this thread are the REAL survey result that they ought to take into account of. People buy cars for various reasons. Only mis-guided people buy Hybrid car thinking they are saving the Earth. The theory of everyone doing a small little part, will add up to alot is another mis-guided concept. As long as Humans are still burning fossil fuel, the Earth will never be getting anywhere cleaner. Fossil Fuels are required in EVERYTHING in Human lives. If anyone can give me three activities/things that has ZERO relationship to fossil fuel. I will award him with a genuinely Hybrid vehicle for FREE.
Wheels on Fire SG For christ's sake, he was the minister for env!!!!! if he didn't "walk the talk", who else will be convinced. Must lead by example mah. Just like when new water was launched, the ministers must drink in front of national tv to show tat it's not "sai jui". Who knows, after the fanfare died down, he has already dumped his prius for a Merc S600
