still wrong. This qn the trick lies in "remainder of something". Therefore, by merely multiply 4 to 7777, u interpreting the qn as " she spend 1/4 of her money on toys" which is wrong.

The qn wants:" 1/4 of the remainder of money"

U need to be strong in fraction to understand what i meant.

i am doing it as remainder of 1/4 of remainder of money what.

i even fuc king draw a model in which u will get 12 bars where 6 bars belong to clothes, 2 bars belong to games and 1 bar belong to toys what.

so 12-6-2-1 will get u 3 bars where 3 bars would be 7777.

this got to show, the minimum value of denominator is 24 and not 12

U make it sounds so complicated. In fact, the question is so straightforward.

The only flaw i can find in this qn is the timeframe that is not stated clearly. However, in reality, we are faced with this kind of ambiguity. Therefore, assumptions ARE NEEDED here to solve the problem.

In this case, my assumption is that the girl get allowance for the full 12 months last year and only spend everything at jan of next year. To me, the likelihood of this assumption is the highest as compared to the other assumptions that u can make.

She spent 1/3 of the remainder (1/2) , so the remainder is 2/3 x 1/2
She spent 1/4 of the remainder (2/3 x 1/2 ) , so the remainder is 3/4 x 2/3 x 1/2

Which is 1/4 !!!!!!

So , 1/4 of her money is 7777 , then what she gets is 7777 x 4

Which is 31108 !!!!!!

THen u can divide the value with whatever months u can think of !!!!!

x/2+x/6+x/24=x-7777
12x/24+4x/24+x/24=x-7777
7777=24x-17x
7777=7x
1111=X
