Hi bros, me noob here. Just wanna noe wat is the meaning of OMV and Parf value. Anyone care to explain? Thanks alot.

Parf value is it like if parf value is 60%, then if u scrap the car, you will get back 60% of the money you first fork out for the car?

if i am correct its the value of the car when its imported into Sg w/o taxes…after 10 yrs the car no more OMV liao…

omv is called open market value... its the value of the car when its imported into sg... then the dealers will mark up the price due to regulations blah to the price u see at the showrooms..

after 10 yrs... is coe no more.. then u will be left with juz a percentage of the omv when u scrape the car... its called parf value... i think is 50% if i am not worng... for cars below 5 yrs is 75% of omv plus ur remaining coe if u want to scrape ur car...

I don't understand why ppl always talk about OMV and paper value?
See what happen now? all those 30-40k COE car all kana scrap liao,and next is 20k COE car.

I think now LTA/MTA web show the breakdown of car cost, many buyer know that the profit for dealer is as high or even higher than the OMV itself.
What paper value mean is the car cost minus the profit of the dealer made
