"Patient Zero"? I thought that just means he was the first to be
discovered by Mohinder's father to be one with powers. If his power
was taken away, how does that make him "formidable"? Without his
powers, he is just an ordinary person. Anyway, he is not the first
with powers...there were many before him...eg. Adam, Claire's mom
(with pyrokinetic power), to name a couple.
As for Peter and his sudden control of his powers, even before he
lost his memory, he had a hard time controlling his powers...he
blew up in the first place due to his lack of control, but now,
suddenly in episode 11 he can generate and contain just the right
amount of nuclear energy to destroy the vile of germs.
