Hmmm, but ICA is wrong.
This is from state departments webbie..
http://www.dhs.gov/xtrvlsec/programs/content_multi_image_0021.shtm#3
then u can read... they got 3 types of ppl...
1 is for...
Passports issued on or after October 26, 2006: e-Passports
2 is for..
Passports issued October 26, 2005 - October 25, 2006: Digital
Photographs
3 is for...
Passports issued before October 26, 2005: Machine-Readable
Zones..
and from the ICA's site.. "passports issued or extended after 26
October 2006 are required to be biometric in order for the holder
to enjoy visa waiver entry into US"...
which is...
Passports issued on or after October 26, 2006: e-Passports
New passports issued by Visa Waiver Program countries must be
e-Passports, which include an integrated computer chip capable of
storing biographic information from the data page, as well as other
biometric information, such as the required digital photograph of
the holder. You can identify an e-Passport by the symbol (see image
at right).
If your passport does not have this feature, you can still travel
without a visa if it is a valid passport issued:
* Before October 26, 2005, and includes a machine-readable zone,
or
* Between October 26, 2005, and October 25, 2006, and includes a
digital photograph.
And since i didnt meet the features.....I do however have a machine
readable passport which was issued bbefore october
26..05.....
