American TV series

Gareth- SG

Hi, new member here.

Would just like to ask where could you buy DVDs/VCDs of American TV series?
Oh and also,

code 1 will be sold mostly in hmv and tower records, if i'm not wrong. places like blue laser... or something, those lower end shops have the code 3 ones which are cheaper. but hey, the funny thing is, people just dont know u can get code 1 at a price that is comparative or even lower than those code3 u see locally. go amazon.com..... shipping is dirt cheap, cheaper than the lowest u can find on ebay. cheap = ard 3usd, thereabouts. definitely below 5 usd.

Took this off from the mediacorp forums. Does anyone know what's code 1 and code 3? Lastly, is it possible to find episodes free on the internet?

Thanks in advance

region code 1 is directly imported from US, which means, no censor or anything,

and why there is this region 1 code, is to combat piracy...

region code 1 is US

region code 3 is asia except japan

region code 2 is Japan

before you buy any DVD player, must ask whether how many region code, the DVD player can play........

most US drama series is already in region code 3...... except before you buy any movie, there is always a tag at the top of the DVD box, indicting whether it is region 1 or 3, and most DVD player sold can be play in region 3, you can either look for a region free DVD player out in the market.....................................
