unclebutcher SG anyone experience dizziness/headache when playing fps games like hl2, bioshock etc? when i play too long i get headaches…
BabyRex SG It takes me only 10 min playing any FPS games to feel like puking. Even Google Earth makes me puke if I play with it for too long. I think is a form of motion sickness. So I only play RTS games like CnC series (minus Renegade) and StarCraft, AOE/AOM Series. FPS games are strictly no no. Strange thing is I don't have problem on boats even those bumboats that used to ply between Changi Point and P. Tekong or airplane.
casshern SG i used to play all the FPS non stop for hours, but since HL2 i been getting motion sickness. went to play BF2142 lan with my friend last nite. got pretty sick also. old liao. old man can only play solitaire
Deino SG Its the frames per second lah…...i dun understand why some people cannot handle it…...i find it really amusing coz are using more fps than tv which is actually good…...you would normally feel like puking if the fps is low and lagging abit
Deino SG i think its just you......tv programs go at 30 for the maximum leh...... but normally video games run on 60 fps......but then again it also depends on wot you are doing in the game itself
tripsky SG i nearly puked while playing half life 2 too. it is due to the default fov at 75. changed it to 90 and no more problem! go into console and type: sv_cheats 1 fov 90 u hav to type it everytime u start the game at the main menu. hope it works for you!
nuub1987 SG yea half life 2 makes me dizzy after 10 mins too… the turning and all that seems to be too fast arhghgh .. but cs source still okay no problem
tripsky SG it's the field of vision. supposely most FPS games have a fov of 90 degrees. but then again... even after the change i still hav abit of a problem while driving the boat n buggy due to motion sickness.
Detached SG Field of Vision. The higher the FOV, the more things you can see... But set it too high, the graphics might appear stretched... Pro gamers always use a high FOV
ohnoez! SG this kind must get used to it de….last time i play half life then will feel dizzy but the more i play the more i wont feel dizzy…..now i can play for hours withou being sick..
Darkness_hacker99 SG Yar. Every time I play Half Life 2, I'll get very bad headache. But when I play CS, it's ok.. Dunno why.. Since then, I sold my half life disc away liao.

casshern SG its not FPS, its call stimulation sickness. scroll down to this link and u will find out more. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_sickness it doesnt matter how high ur FPS is to get stimulation sickness. my HL2 was running at 60+FPS at full res FYI. so its not caused by FPS.
