Mebbe they should be equipped with a proper digital camera to capture everything as reference before issuing the summons. But hell…these parking aunties are a dime a dozen…heard they got commission one.No wonder keep finding fault with people.

The fact that he parked in the lot against traffic flow is prove enough that the offence is commited NOT because of obstruction BUT due to the desire to park at the particular lot. What else is there to say ?

Try reverse parking on lots that says "head-in" in USA and see what kinda fine you get Shocked . Well, you can always say that their legal system is flawed too Very Happy

This is what I call unnecessary laws, designed to cause maximum anxiety and stress in our daily lives here in Sillypore....Granted there are parking laws worldwide, including where I'm going to, but at least over where I am going to, there are lots of space to park without having to pay, and you only get fined if you really do something silly like park alongside a road kerb. There is no law to say whether your bonnet faces which direction...

From what I understand, these people have daily quotas (something like a sales job). Once they have hit, they will jiak jua somewhere. I'm not sure if they have commission for every fine though once they exceed quota.

recently then i discover this parking offence also when i saw a car got fined despite putting a whole row of coupons along killney road.

i read carefully and saw the same thing
in parking lot but against flow of traffic.

then i know there is such offence.

And that poor guy waste all his coupons about 5 pieces of $1 and kena slapped with a $50 fine...

premas are very sneaky nowadays.. i also kena summon before, and the time stated was 10 mins before i arrived. So there r always ppl in premas that r crooks. mine was $100 summon, good commision for that person. anyway i got it squashed.. long story.

i heard now got plain cloths summoners operating.. anybody can confirm?

yea i got put parking coupon. i got an email from URA which states that my appeal is being looked into. so yea still waiting.

if i do go to the MP.. i wont juz be trying to write it off.. i want the law changed. if they wanna keep the law - incorporate it into learner drivers. put up prominent signs, draw markings on the road or do something so pple KNOW.

if not, if they wanna leave it a secret so pple get a rude shock when they put coupons n still get a ticket then juz get rid of the rule. its ridiculous.

Then what are the traffic rules you don't know? Do you know if you stop yr vehicle beyond the stop line at pedestrian crossing, you can be summon? do you know if you park or stop abreast to another vehicle, you can be summon? Do you know if you do not stop where there is a stop sign, you can be summon of not following traffic sign and also charged of inconsiderate driving if you cause any accident or cause the on-coming vehicle from your right to brake?...if the answer is NO, then either you better learn the highway code again...

y r u flaming me? anyways yes i know all of that. i even took the trouble to find out exactly what parking abr3ast of another vehicle meant when i passed my license. in short - i know almost all the rules there are that are written in my FTT and BTT books.. at least 95% clear.

the point here are not the rules that are already clearly stated. its the stupid rule that i was booked for. now QUIT flaming me u're starting to get on my nerves.

"Do you know if you stop yr vehicle beyond the stop line at pedestrian crossing, you can be summon?" - I always stop behind the stop line. not just for the rules but cos areas like traffic light junctions are controlled by sensors under the road surface. these sensors are placed behind the stop line. not stopping on the sensors would b stupid cos the light will take longer to turn green or not turn green at all when it assumes there are no cars. for zebra crossings n such - i almost never stop on top of them cos i'll feel guilty when i seep edestrains walking arnd my car n i'm blocking them. especially cyclists cos i cycle too n get irriated with drivers who do that. so yea i stop behind the line.

"do you know if you park or stop abreast to another vehicle, you can be summon?" an idiot did that to me once and i called the carpark enforcement who promptly came down n settled the matter so i could get out of my lot. so thank you very much but i know this rule very well.

"Do you know if you do not stop where there is a stop sign, you can be summon of not following traffic sign and also charged of inconsiderate driving if you cause any accident or cause the on-coming vehicle from your right to brake?" if u make a search in the car forum u will find a thread where someone complained abt getting into an accident that turned out from a minor road with a stop line to a major road and crashed into the threadstarter's car. the lorry was obviously in the wrong as there was a stop line n it did not stop. incidentally, i made a post in that thread with my opinions on the matter. also note that i did pass my circuit driving for my license and i did stop behind every stop line. its the most basic of rules. so pls dun treat me like i was born yesterday.

if there's nothing else, thank you for taking the time to prepare that test for me to judge if i need to learn the highway code again. now i can happily say i do not need to. god bless n have a nice day.

Well, rules are rules, and there are so many rules created just so they can make money from motorists' careless, selfish, and ignorant driving and or parking habits.

Parking in a lot but against traffic flow, is in my view, wrong.

In most basement carparks of shopping centers, there are signs that reads "REVERSE PARKING ONLY" and they're put there for a reason; to prevent accidents due to motorist backing out of the lot.

Good to know that you know the traffic rules well, i am not flaming you. Why I want to take some of the offences as example, because I think most of us should aware that parking against traffic flow is an offence. I just surprised that you are not aware of that. Anyway, if you ticket mentioned rule 12(1) which was about signage offence and there is no signage, you maybe able to get way...good luck.

2 We wish to explain that under Rule 12 of the parking places rules, motorists who drive or park their vehicles within a parking places are required to comply with all the signs exhibited in a parking place eg. Traffic directional sign.

3 When your vehicle was inspected at 12.01pm on 25/7/06, it was found parked against the flow of traffic at Ann Siang Road in lot 19. We wish to clarify that Ann Siang Road is a two-way street and drivers traveling against the flow of traffic to obtain a parking space will pose danger to themselves and other road users.
