why in the 90s they are able to produce so many period dramas but not now? really miss the TCS days....

i think they cant make ancient shows anymore cos the govt took back the land ( in tuas i think ) which was used for filming of ancient shows....

most of the ancient shows are filmed there.... like wok of life, condor hero, etc

I feel mediacorp should aim to produce one old period drama every yr. It will be fresh and different from the usual family-theme serials, something to look out for. Is good training for our actors too, being able to try out both period/contemporary dramas. Actually i saw the re-run of Xiao Au Jiang Hu recently on tv. Is 1st time i watched, and actually not too bad attempt. At least the old TCS managed a good mix of different dramas long time ago, till commercialism takes over

i think now mediacorp artists if they want to act in guzhuang, they will act in oversea like taiwan, china or hong kong wif their local artists.

The family drama is getting sick, i think everyone notice mediacorp drama viewer rating dropped alot.
I don't think any of the new artist have the acting skill even near xie shao guang. Why pierre pang the "foreign potatoe" also can act as leading roll. Rolling Eyes
