Sending one's mum old folks home unfillial?

well, really i agree with you but there are exceptions. Say in the US or Japan or even China, some old people really rather live in retirement villages because they can be quite attractive...

But in Singapore, of course it's not the case. So if ur mom does want to live there, then i wouldn't say its unfilial.

if my mother's got some illness or what, and requires someone to take care of her, i'd send her to old folks home...

its safer, and better for her...

anyway, frm what i see now.. its better for me n mama not to live together.. at least our r/s is v good now... i stay over at her plc for more than 24 hours n it becomes very ugly.. Mad

2) WHICH OPTION IS BETTER FOR YOUR MUM'S CONDITIONS.
3) YOUR ABILITY AND AFFORDABILITY TO TAKE CARE OF HER

DEEP IN ALL PARENTS' HEARTS, THEY WANT TO LIVE WITH THEIR CHILDREN, GRAND CHILDREN IF POSSIBLE.

Used to think so until my uncles (Including my dad) agree on sending my granny to old folk home. We just couldnt take good care of her. She is senile and hostile to ppl for no apparent reason. She lock herself out of the house and goten lost for duno how many time. Have to go police and do man hunt regularly. It is much safer for her in the home where she got peer of her age and ppl to look after her 24/7. Still we try to visit her often and bring her home on weekend. Such is life in sg. Most average income ppl are too busy working just to survive, so most of my uncle and auntie have to work, hence none is free to look after her 24/7.
