some cars when upshifting will produce a spark from e exhaust. similarly, after market products can interrupt engine sparking n port fuel straight to exhaust system, thus producing a flame-thrower effect. those conversant wif e internal workings of e exhaust system pls verify..

Ever saw one RX7 in the tunnel, but before i can reach it (was driving a EP 80), i saw two short and loud bursting flame from the exhaust pipe. Then i smell the smoke liao. Only till outside the tunnel, he slow down to let me see his car. Really a beauty.
Just wan to check wif you guys.... if a put a bigger cc fuel pump and a straight through exhaust system, i also can get the flame from the exhaust, right?? But of course on the EP80, i also know my limits lah.... Definitely cannot catch up with the RX7.......
Now already change car....driving a CL7 euro r. But dun wan to mod too much. Wife nagged about spending unnecessary dough. She will never understand the shiokness of a mod car. Sigh...... Crying or Very sad

i don think they put ALS…cause putting that will shorten the exhaust life to 50 to 100km…i think thats a backfire…who will press the nitro when they are approaching the corner…i know u are talking about around 2:35mins of the video…don u notice a mild bend and tsuchiya jus let go of the gas pedal and that create the back fire…same as the skyline back fire part…it is also approaching a corner

nitrous does not give u flames.

power production is based upon the stoichometric combustion of fuel and oxgen. more oxygen burns + more fuel = more power. nitrous oxide produces power because of the additional availability of pure oxygen particles which are released during combustion which in turn, allows more fuel to be mixed to produce more power.

this basically means that any normal combustion will produce flames. think u watch too much 2F2F liao. Laughing

the correct chemical constituent of NOS is nitrous oxide or N2O. meaning 2 parts nitrogen and 1 part oxygen. NO(2) is a completely different compound known as nitrogen dioxide (1 part notrogen, 2 parts oxygen), which is a relatively inactive compound.

and contrary to wad u have said, it is oxygen combustion which produces power, not N2O. nitrogen is an inert gas and does not react with fuel to produce combustion. because N2O is so chemically volatile, it breaks down easily to release the precious oxygen needed for combustion. i will not go into the explanation of why this reaction is so efficient as that would require some molecular analysis.

i suggest reading more books and doing more research on the internet instead making urself look silly from shooting off on a public forum using the knowledge u have from watching too much cartoons and playing too many computer games. Laughing

there are generally 2 scenarios when u have flames coming out of ur exos. this phenomenom is usually accompanied by a "pop" sound as the flames are expelled from the exos tip. one is deliberately induced (as in an anti lag system) to prevent a drop in boost and the other is a result of engine management and exhaust set up. the flames are seen because during shifting, there is a sudden cut in the influx of intake gases when ur rite foot is lifted off the accelerator. the resultant drop in intake means there is significantly lesser oxygen to react completely with the leftover fuel in the previous combustion cycle which is in turn passed out as exos gases. as this fuel is unable to react with oxygen to produce the stable by products of combustion (CO2 and H2O) therefore, the extra fuel self combusts within the exos pipe thereby producing the flames.

the effects are more pronounced in a straight thru exos system because the hollow pipe acts as huge "barrel" for the explosion to be channeled out (imagine a round coming out from a long barrel weapon such as an M16A1 rifle).
