the Bear SG izzit? next time when the Krauts come here, they'll not be happy when we label them Germany instead of Deutchsland?
casshern SG imagine u go to a foreign event and have ur name in Melayu, or African, or Greece or some other language which u wouldnt like to have
the Bear SG show me apart from Douche-land (which is almost their native name anyway) what makes it silly?
casshern SG me no linguist, but if ur name translate into some languages and it sound kinda funny i'm sure u wouldnt like it too. maybe for the European translations we dun mind cos its like real cool and stuff, but maybe not for those lesser known languages
the Bear SG well, we should not condemn before we even know... look what happened to the TS.. he now looks like a frog in a well
casshern SG yeah, but for me, i wouldnt want my name translated into the host's language, with all due respect, without my permission. if the Singapore Team had given permission for the host to spell Singapore as Singapour, then we have no issues.
noopi SG country's name changes according to language de meh? then if meeting is held in KL would china become cheena?
the Bear SG then.. how? die die must be in english or chinese or tamil? and if they come to Singapore, we can't print "Bangladesh" on the plates and must write in Bengali? do think about this... we do write "Germany" when it should be something else..
the Bear SG not necessarily.. in their country, you use their language.. btw... for all this, you think for one single moment the host country anyhow put? ALL this is cleared through the foreign ministries and agreed on by the countries way way WAY before anything... it's diplomatic protocol..
AndrewPKYap SG if and when they lose, then it is not so paiseh mah.... they will say SingaPOUR lost, not Singapore....
casshern SG if its agreed upon, den no issues. i only felt that if the host had superimpose the name in their native lanauge, den its wrong
