I just don't understand property.
Look at all those en-bloc sales. Where there used to be 100 units,
they are building 200-400 units.
There will be a temporary shortage of high end housing as en-bloc
properties are being redeveloped. But once all these places are
built, who is going to live in them?
If you buy a place, someone has to live in it or the place just
sits there doing nothing. Either you live in it or you rent it out.
Who can afford to live in those places?
Foreigners? The Hong Kong exodus is over. People working in IR?
Sure there will be some highly paid expats, but majority of the
people will be regular wage slaves.
But anyway, this issue is probably moot. Once global warming melts
the polar ice caps, Singapore is going to sink under the sea
anyway.
