If we know we are targeted, we will carry out whatever pre-emptive means necessary to ensure it never happens. Believe me.

"I knew when I got the assignment it was going to be an emotional thing," Tibbets told The Columbus Dispatch for a story published on the 60th anniversary of the bombing. "We had feelings, but we had to put them in the background. We knew it was going to kill people right and left. But my one driving interest was to do the best job I could so that we could end the killing as quickly as possible."

Don't forget that the Americans are providing freedom to the world. Freedom is not free, needs to fight and die for it.

If not for the Americans, you might be speaking Nihongo now . Razz

Note the age of the pilot when he passed on. 92 ?! Do you think anyone can live in regret for 60 years ? Even if he wanted to his brain would have wanted him to hang himself rite? Anyway, we cant say what he did was entirely wrong. Even if he didnt do it, dont u think the US would have gotten some other guy to bomb them. I think he should be praised instead, for being mentally strong to live some 60 years without feeling anyform of repentence. A great man indeed. Laughing

Lancerlot SG

Yeah, i enjoy my freedom fries Very Happy

wonderamazement SG

Iraq wasn't nuclear... I thought dirty chem bombs & such? Confused

lpx88 SG

Actually in some ways it is justified for the dropping of the a-bombs

The Japanese soldiers were way too patriotic in their last few battles alrdy. Even more lives would have been lost if the war drags on. Japan wasn about to give way and surrender.

But on the other hand, the USA should have dropped the bomb on perhaps an empty island with no civilization or an isolated are, maybe to see if they can intimidate Japan.

wonderamazement SG

I thought they did... or didn't they.

Stoat SG

The pilot probably had no idea what kind of bomb he was dropping in the first place Laughing

lpx88 SG

The 2 cities the bombs landed in has at least 70k casualties each

What do u think? Laughing

yiha093 SG

the rest of the worl may forgive the Japs, but the Japs will not forgive what they thought the others had done wrong to them, and they will never forget their mission of conquering the world. After the war, they try so hard in many ways to win the world over. This way, they need not use force to conquer the world.

jacqn SG

I start this thread cos i felt anger with the Japs, not to the pilot, it is the Japs who died without feeling regrets, not the other way round.

Ashearo SG

He did the right thing. No such thing as innocent Japanese because they elected their government who went to war and they supported it. They should stop crying bout it. Next time dont start a damn war then whine bout it 50 years later.

798 SG

so if one day our government put us in a dire situation n offend our neighbours, do we deserve to die just becos 66.6% support our government?

798 SG

despite wat the americans did to the japan. the japan has already conquered the world wif technology like cars, television, etc dat are all over the world.

jacqn SG

it is not as if the innocent japs deserve to die, it is the result of their government actions that led to the sufferings. Anyway, the japs never regret their actions, do they?

798 SG

their grandparents should! but not the younger generations as they do not know the history.

why r u so anti-jap? r u from china? Twisted Evil

jacqn SG

because the young ones never knew about the real history!! i am singaporean. I know how my grandparents suffered during the war.

gunner77 SG

he did something tat the world should feel proud of

damn those japs Evil or Very Mad
