Merging a sequence

I've just taken a sequence of pictures of my friend skateboarding and jumping off some stairs. My camera practically didnt move while taking 5 shots.

I want to combine these pics into one pic, showing my friend moving along and flying thru the air. How do I do that with photoshop/ photoshop elements?

Google didnt really help me.

I don’t quite get what you’re saying. Are you gonna put all the picture in one scene and make it into somewhat a collage, or animate the pictures into a sequence?

Apologize for not making myself clear.

I mean combining the pictures into one scene to make somewhat a collage, no animation involved. So the final picture will have the effect shown in this pic from another forum http://togoparts.com/showroom/viewpic.php?srid=4&file=20070614220255808.jpg

You will need a basic understanding of layers in photoshop but try this:

With photoshop, open all the photos you want to combine.

Now you want to get all the photos into 1 file as layers. You will use the first photo as your 'canvas'.

Now go to the second photo, select all, copy, and paste into the first photo - it should appear as a new layer. You can now close the second photo. - Do this for all the other photos.

Now you should have one photo open with many layers, each layer showing your different photos.

Select the top layer, and use the eraser to erase all around your friend - ie the background. This should expose the layer below it, and another image of your friend. Now do the same for the layer below, and so on.

You can follow what Jason said,but if you're still confused, PM me and i'll give you an alternative method. Which should get your final image looking more cleaner and professional (since Jason's method requires some skill in using the eraser,no offense to his credibility though.) Cool

I managed to follow your steps.. except the eraser part. I am still a photoshop noob Laughing

In the meantime, I'll improve on my eraser skills.

You can just use the first photo as a base layer and then 'lasso' off his friend's body from the other photos, after which you drag the cropped picture of his friend onto the base layer, one after another. I was thinking that it would be a much easier and faster process.
