I've been having tiny red bumps on my arms and legs for close to 3 weeks.

Thing is,I've been to a polyclinic last week and after the medicine has finished, the rashes are still NOT BLOODY GONE! They've hardly improved either.

Is it normal for rashes to stay on one's body for so long? Should I wait for them to disappear or see another doctor?

Hey TS, u r not alone. My rashes, abt 2 mth liao. In my 20 yrs on earth, this is the 1st time i had rashes. Consulted 1 chinese physician n 2 pte doctors. Once i stopped my medication, the next day whole body starts to grow patches n itches. As i am typing this, i’m actually scratching my peni.s lols

next time you see the doctor, tell him to give u another brand of cream. my gf changed the cream and it seems like the cream has done her rashes miracle.

no need to go specialist unless your case is extreme... anyway, skin centre is also not open to walk in so u still need a reference letter.

I think it's okay to wait for a couple more weeks for the rashes to disappear...but if rashes last more than 3 months, then you hve to go doctor for a checkup.

Btw, what's the name of the cream your gf is using?

There are many reasons for rash to appear on your body:
- allergy due to medication, insect bites, food etc
- dermatitis or eczema
- some underlying health issue
- infections

Is your rash itchy? Do they look like blister or like mosquito bite? What medication did the doctor give you? Wink

You can try using Hydrocortisone 1.0% which works well on inflammations and rashes. I use it for my eczema
You can buy it from any pharmacy in Singapore without a prescription but pls use it sparingly as it is really a mild form of steroid cream.

Also do you have fever or other symptoms? Dengue gives you bad itchy rashes too. Check yourself to see if there is any spotting under your skin on your body as that usually indicates internal bleeding.

I caught Dengue once without any flu like symptoms or fever and only had rashes

Nope, there's no fever whatsoever- just rashes which don't go away...I think I'll wait for a couple of weeks and see if it improves.

Just make sure you read the instruction about Hydrocortisone before you use it. You have to use it sparingly only as it can thin you skin after prolonged use.

Also, you really have to make sure your rash is not a skin infection. Hydrocortisone suppresses your immune system and hence could worsen your rash if it's indeed a skin infection.
