-ViRuS- SG Hmm… so what exactly is the law? My view is that if you aren’t sharing nor downloading any copyrighted songs, you won’t get into any trouble… any views?
RiotZ84 SG Sharing of files is nothing wrong.... but the problem lies with what files you choose to share... MP3s are fine... but MP3 of pop songs from recognised artists with copyrights for their songs are illegal. U would not get into trouble for sharing an MP3 of an original (self-written) song which U sang yourself; or neither would U get into trouble for sharing a picture which U took from Ur digital cam. In short.... it is what U share that will get U in trouble and not because U share files. Hope that helps.
RiotZ84 SG erm... If U are caught D/L a copyrighted song AND MOVIES TOO, U would also get into trouble...
xavier1979 SG Another question comes to mind: Who should be liable for the copyright infringement? The one who actively seeks for the required song or movie online? Or the one who passively lets the former browse thru his/her PC and download the song/movie?
chunyong SG Currently Singnet have ‘bao doh’ 1 guy for using Kazaa…the guy apparently ignored the warning email from Singnet prior to action being taken….so maybe i can say he asked for it. Both sharing and/or download is illegal, note the word BOTH.
RiotZ84 SG U let people D/L, meaning U distributed, they can sue U... U know its copyrighted but yet still D/L, equally they can sue U...
