It's expected to see tons of complains about insurance agent
being pushy, cunning, sly, ruthless and etc. Well, most complains
comes from those that you would meet on public places like MRT, bus
interchange and shopping centres.
AFAIK, this agents are solely based on commission, have monthly
quota to meet and extremely desperate. No sales means no income and
still have to dress like pro, with some even resort to borrowing
money or digging into their savings when they just started to buy
branded goods, car and etc. To me, if they don't make it, they will
surely die with chalked up debts and so the only way is up.
Being rude is definitely unprofessional and uncalled for, these
agents should be forwarded to MAS for actions as they are bound by
the FAA rule, no matter which company they are from.
I think the best way to reject any insurance agent nicely is stop
when they approach you, initiate a handshake first, take his/her
name card immediately and tell them you'll be flying off for
overseas attachment for 2 years the next day and walk off. 99.99%
they'll not follow you. If they do, threaten to give his/her
particulars to MAS. Gao Dtim.
