alwaysdisturbed SG everyone is so money oriented. who's gonna pay for airtime? don't always wait for the superpowers to do something. we are also living on this earth, every little bit counts. sorry, i had sporeans in mind when i thought of that.
alleggerita SG Why would "TALKING" about the Live Earth concert meant it worked? Even if something worked, the thing that worked is that artists performing has succeeded in gaining more publicity.. The Live Earth Concert is meant to CREATE AWARENESS about global warming..if after watching it and we are "TALKING" about how well the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Linkin Park, Snow Patrol, Keane performed during the concert, the AWARENESS that the concert is creating is wrong.. So "TALKING" about Live Earth doesn't mean people are now more aware of global warming..
Darkness_hacker99 SG Those in "The Day After tomorrow" after non-fiction. National Geographic or Discovery Channel got say already.
Louischin SG Everyone has a part to play despite being a small country.. Even though the earth temperature is rising everyday, by doing our parts, we might see a slim chance of survival (as technology advances) it might extend our survival rate.. lols.. and.. The day after tml is really a nice movie i still rmb after watching it i’m freezing cold =X
blahshit SG yea.. national geo and discovery channel did say it's fiction.. because of the time frame.. as in everything happen too fast in the movie.. ice age will not happen in a matter a few weeks.. it happen over a period of time.. the fiction part is only the time frame.. the ice age is not fiction and it's part or the earth climate cycle.. if we don't do anything about global warming, there will be either one of the 2 ending for earth.. 1)global flooding and intense storms.. stronger heat waves, more disease and whatever you are hearing about the consequensces of global warming.. -->results in human deaths.. 2)tigger ice age-->results in widespread death of humans race i guess all of us in the world should play a part in solving thing problem as this is our only home.. without earth, do you think anyon of us will be talking down here in sgforums or shop in orchard road? even in such a small country like singapore, it's important for us to play a part as we as well contribute to global warming. i personally thinks that live earth does some effect to the masses. it changed the thinking of people about global warming and the importance of it.. people now knows that there is global warming and this is a good start.. but unfortunately, we might be too late to fully solve the problem..
alwaysdisturbed SG can't agree more. doesn't mean we are just a dot we can hackcare about it. everyone living on this place has to do their part. in fact global warming has been predicted decades ago. now that its been felt by many in different parts of the world, little action is still being done. i guess we're doomed.
oOprinceOo SG global warming kills sperms. we may not be able to reproduce and become extinct in da coming 100 years. [ totally no logic , one sided ]
alleggerita SG Never be too sure..the Earth will forever be unpredictable.. The weather we are experiencing due to global warming now is what scientists predict will happen another 10 years down the road, but we are experiencing these kind of weather 10 years earlier..I know what happened in "The Day after Tomorrow" might be impossible, but what happened in the movie might come true sooner or later, albeit spanning over a longer period of time..Scientists are not always right.. And I think one of the main reasons why nothing much is done to improve global warming is because all the countries just won't cooperate to fight global warming..everybody is pushing blames and if this carry on, no global efforts can be realised..this is just so saddening..
alwaysdisturbed SG i think 1 of the reason why we are experiencing what is predicted to happen 10 years down now is because everything is increasing at an exponential rate.
