jlzk SG Anyone know how to be teacher?(The route) What are the terms to be a good teacher and well like by students? Kindly provided me will as much info as possible i am interested to become a teacher =)
laoda99 SG u need to enter MOE with a A Level or a Poly Diploma. After that they will arrange u to go NIE study. They may offer u diploma or degree course in education, depending on ur poly or A level results. Good teacher and well like by students? I think sincerity counts the most. students know whether u are sincere or not.
dibilo SG if you are A levels and if your results allows you to enter a uni, you are safe. if you are a dip holder, you'll need to have an average B or better result.
jlzk SG Oh i see....Is it they will take in any diploma students/ with a average B or better result? Is there a difference in A lvl and Dip Holders as in will they compare and who get higher pay or etc?
caleb_chiang SG I think you can check it up at NIE or MOE. Certification not that important at the moment but it would actually determine which grade you are able to teach. Then you will need to complete and pass the courses in order to become a qualified one.
jlzk SG I had check alot alot of time from different web from NIE to MOE its kinda complex i kinda catch no ball =x

I have known pple who have bad results and dun even make it for the interview. Dip will get higher pay than A lvl....from 100-200.....(200 is technical diploma)
angel7030 SG What kind of teacher you want to be, religion, martial art, karaoke, singing, sewing, cake making, school teacher, etc etc???
rainee SG I have applied to MOE and will start contract teaching jan next year You just need to apply through MOE, then they will call u for an interview. After that interview, you will either go straight to NIE or go for contract teaching 1 year then go to NIE, depending on your performance. If you go NIE straight u need to sign a bond with them though, and it will bind you to them for the next 3 years after u finished the course. But contract teachers are not bonded so if you find it is not suitable u can leave anytime you want. To be well-liked by students ah...you need to find a way to get along with them, and know that different students have different ways to teach them. You need to be stern with them as well, otherwise if you are too friendly they will take advantage of you. It comes with experience
