urbanmonkey SG Hi all, Just asking, is it against the law not to bring your NRIC along with you all the times? Can I use my Driving License as a substitute for my identification instead? Lost my NRIC recently, so the next replacement is $300, so it's more cost-effective to keep it at home... Can anyone comment? Thank you!
SilverRevo SG In fact, as a student, if you don't bring your student ezlink, you're not considered a student even in full school uniform with a school badge, school bag, with busload of students from the same school. (Dictated by SBS)
Darkness_hacker99 SG Quite troublesome if you kena check up by police or authorities. For me, I only bring my ez-link to school nia, never bring my IC. But at night when you go out, MUST bring IC.
dragg SG i find this ruling stupid. its not like anyone will actually dress up like a student just to pay lesser.
sEphIrOth SG with the flaw of not bringing ur ez link and proclaiming to be a student, some unscruplous people may use this flaw to their benefit
SilverRevo SG Somemore, it's a rule to replace the ez link once lost. The ticket inspector scolded me for paying 55cents while I was in my sch u. If I'm in home clothes I don't mind full price. And then she went to scold the bus captain for giving half price to STUDENT. I bring my IC wherever I go.
silvercap SG Today I didn't bring my IC went to Alexandra hospital for medical checkup, no problem at all, but the receptionist showed me her "du lan" face. Then I show her my "du rian" face.
urbanmonkey SG so much been said, so i guess, it is ok to go around w/o my NRIC? maybe juz use my driving license as an alternative...the thought of replacing a NRIC again ($300) is kindda expensive for me... p/s: i left school donkey years ago...so i do not have the luxury of owning a school-issued ezlink card
Meat Pao SG Must be a joke right........against the law not to carry IC around..? I often go around without IC...sometimes without the whole wallet also.... No problem what..... Who will stop u and check.....the probability is maybe 0.1%..... Meat Pao.
798 SG my mum kept my nric for me. i myself also dun like to bring my ic wif me cos i afraid i might lose it or somebody stolen it. i'm a superstituous person. losing ic is as if u r losing ur name. if u go n rename another one in a day which crash wif ur DOB, ur fate will be completely change.
